Instructor Onboarding Guide

Welcome to Immersio, Instructors! Immersio integrates innovative technology to deepen student connections, streamline class management, and simplify course creation. This guide equips you with the essentials for using Immersio’s tools effectively, accessing resources, and monitoring student progress.


Getting Started: Your Immersio Workspace

Explore My Space
  • Access “My Space” from the navigation menu. Here you’ll find key information:
    • Notifications: Stay informed about course updates and announcements.
    • My Progress Reports: Track your teaching performance over time.
    • My Courses: View assigned courses, schedules, and student details.
User Management (View-Only Access)
  • Familiarize yourself with student and tutor details in “User Management” (left navigation).
  • Select “Tutors” or “Students” to view their information.

Building Your Courses

Create Engaging Courses with AI Assistance
  • Navigate to “Learning and Growth” then “Course Library”
  • Click “Add a New Course” and input details like title, description, and category.
  • Leverage AI to assist in building the course structure and content.
Develop Placement Tests
  • Access “Placement Tests” in “Learning and Growth”
  • Create and manage placement tests to assess student proficiency levels:
    • Select target and instructional languages, test type (grammar or listening).
    • Optionally collaborate with a co-instructor.
    • Utilize AI to generate draft questions, edit them as needed, and save.
Schedule and Manage Classes
  • Go to “Class Manager” under “Learning and Growth”
  • Select the course and click “Add Class”
  • Set class details: duration, student limit, participants, assigned tutor, virtual meeting link, start/end dates, and schedule frequency.
Provide Enriching Learning Materials
  • Within “Class Manager,” select a class and click the edit icon.
  • Click “Add Material” to upload resources like PDFs, slides, or provide links.

Monitoring Student Progress

Track Student Success for Informed Teaching
  • Access “Progress Reports” in “Learning and Growth.”
  • Review each student’s exposure to material, accuracy, and response time to tailor your approach.

Ongoing Responsibilities for Instructors

  • Review Student Engagement: Regularly monitor student progress and offer support to those who need it.
  • Stay Updated on Course Content: Check the Course Library for new resources or updates to keep your materials fresh.
  • Maintain Communication: Keep students informed with announcements through Notifications or class announcements.
  • Self-Progress Check: Use My Progress Reports to monitor your teaching performance and adjust strategies for continuous improvement.
